Emails bypass Mailwasher

Mail for Windows 10

"Mail for Windows 10" is the built in mail app for windows 10, and is a bit different to other programs, this page tells you how to change the mail check options...

Set the account checking to "Manually"

Thunderbird

The only 2 possibilities here are both related to Thunderbird, MWPro itself cannot case this.... so, it sounds like the problem is you either (1) have the email account setup as IMAP in Thunderbird there, or (2) you still have it set to automatically send/receive.

(1) you'll need to change this to a POP type account in TBird, if IMAP, it'll do the following:

- always download the emails automatically,
- never remove any mail from the mail server
- If you delete an email from webmail, TBird OR MWPro, it'll be deleted from all 3.

Easiest way to do this is to setup a new email account in TBird, but this time ensure it is POP3 type, with auto mail checking disabled

Once you have it all up and running, delete the IMAP account from TBird, possibly this page will help:

(2) In Thunderbird click, Tools>>Account Settings>>Server Settings>, uncheck, “Check for new Messages every XX mins”, AND, "download email automatically"

OR: "check for new messsages at startup" and "check for new messages every XX mins"

Windows Live Mail (WLM)

MWPro cannot stop or hold your emails at all, so if Windows Live Mail, (WLM), is automatically getting new mail, it will bypass MWPro completely....

If this is happening, there are several ways that spam can bypass mailwasher...

1.) Ensure that these emails are in the inbox folder in your email program when they arrive, (MWPro can only see the inbox folder for POP3 type accounts)
if they are in other folders on your ISP's mail server, MW wont be able to show you these unless you set up the account as a IMAP type in MWPro, (if your ISP supports this).

2.) Ensure that your email client is not set to check for mail every XX mins therefore bypassing MWpro, checkout the below link for details on how to disable this:
    http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/mailwasher-pro/support/frequently-asked-questions#how-do-i-switch-off-automatic-checking-in-my-email-program

3.) Click View>>Show hidden emails, as possibly one of the spam tools within MW is hiding these emails.

4.) Ensure you don't have an email account setup in your email client that the mail check is not checking in MW.
(In MW check your accounts are being checked under Settings>>Accounts, click the account>>General tab, ensure that, "Include in default mail check" is ticked)

5.) You have the email account setup as IMAP (OR HTTP) in WLM there.

You'll need to change this to a POP type account in WLM, if IMAP, it'll do the following:

- always download the emails automatically,
- never remove any mail from the mail server
- If you delete an email from webmail, WLM OR MWPro, it'll be deleted from all 3.

Easiest way to do this is to setup a new email account in WLM, but this time ensure it is POP3 type, with auto mail checking disabled

Once you have it all up and running, delete the IMAP account from WLM.
